Clonmel Celtic travelled to Summerville Rovers (Limerick) in the Munster Shield last 32 yesterday and had a better day than the first team. Celtic started well and created a number of good chances only for three exceptional saves from the Summerville keeper to keep it scoreless until the 40th min when Jack Lawlor broke into the box to put Celtic ahead. The second half was a hard fought affair and with Summerville pushing hard for an equaliser. As the game entered the latter stages and the home team pushing more men forrard Celtic's Jack Aylward capitalised twice on the break to seal a great 3-0 victory away for Celtic.
