Clonmel Celtic couldn't have picked a worse time for a blip in form. After winning their first four games their third game without a win yesterday proved fatal. Defeat to Clonmel Town saw Celtic hand the Youths title to Borris. It was still all in Celtic's hands going into this game but unfortunately they just didn't perform and Town were good value for their win. The most surprising aspect of the first half was that it finished goal less as the visitors should have been ahead at the break. A combination of the woodwork, poor finishing and a couple of fine saves from stand in keeper Cillian Fitzpatrick kept Celtic in the game. Town eventually went ahead early in the second half when Kevin Kenny scored. Celtic levelled within minutes courtesy of a Jack Aylward strike. That should have been the cue for Celtic to take control of a game they had to win. Their cause wasn't helped by the fact they were missing some key players. In fairness to Town they were very solid, well organised and never really looked under any rea threat. Celtic huffed and puffed but couldn't create any clear chances and in the 89th minute Mark O'Meara swept home a lose ball to put Town 2-1 up. The goal was a killer blow for Celtic and the wind was well and truly gone out of their sails when Monsur Emiabeta scored in injury time to pour salt into Celtic's wounds and wrap up a 3-1 win for the visitors.
