Clonmel Celtic Youths will contest the Youth Division 1 Shield final against Borris after a 2-0 derby win against Clonmel Town on Saturday. Both sides had early chances. Celtic hit the front on 30 minutes when a long diagonal ball from Ewan Rumble was headed home by Luke Hannigan to give Celtic an interval lead. Celtic doubled their lead on 65 when Jack Aylward forced a fine save from the Town keeper but Cillian Fitzgerald was on hand to score from the rebound. I'm guessing Celtic would have swapped this win with their defeat to Town in the league a few weeks ago that cost them the league title.

It was disappointment for Clonmel Celtic B who failed to reach the Peter O'Reilly Cup final after a 3-1 defeat to Cahir Park B. The visitors started brightly and lead 1-0 at the break. They doubled their lead midway through the second half. A late rally and a goal from Cillian Fitzgerald brought Celtic back into the game but Cahir B scored again with five minutes to go as Celtic chased an equaliser.
