Clonmel Celtic U14s lost their first game of the season last night going down 3-2 to Mullinahone with the visitors getting a late winner. It was an entertaining end to end game that was level 1-1 at the break with Celtic benefitting from an og. Celtic got on top in the second half and created plenty of opportunities eventually hitting the front when Emmanuel Varghese was set up by Ciaran Horgan. Celtic continued to push forward and had plenty of opportunities to finish off the contest but a combination of poor finishing and good goalkeeping kept the visitors in the game. They hit back with a fine free kick to make it 2-2. This knocked Celtic off their stride a bit as Mullinahone enjoyed a good patch. They got a late winner when scoring from close range when another free kick was saved. It was rough justice on Celtic who you felt deserved at least a point but a valuable lesson learned in that you need to score goals when you are on top in a game.
