Any outside chance of Clonmel Celtic U13s staging a late push for the title more or less ended on Saturday when they went down 3-2 to Clonmel Town B at a sun drenched Ferryhouse last Saturday. Celtic made a flying start and found themselves 2-0 up after ten minutes with goals from Cormac Lucey and Rian Kiely. In truth the goals came about due to poor defending rather than any good Celtic play although Celtic had a very strong penalty appeal that was ignored by the referee. Town got a goal back before the break and were probably the better side in the second half. However they were helped by poor defending that gifted them an equaliser and a rather dubious penalty award in the last minute that gave them the winner. Two water breaks were introduced in each half because of the high temperature.
