A goal seven minutes from time ended Clonmel Celtic's resistance in a rain drenched Cooke Park on Saturday night. St Michaels dominated possession in the first half but were denied on more than one occasion by Fabian Kerton who was magnificent in goal for Celtic. The game remained scoreless at the break. It was much the same in the second half with Celtic putting up a stubborn rearguard defence and relying on the counter attack which in truth didn't bring them too many goalscoring opportunities. Celtic were finally broken down on 83 minutes when Ed O'Dwyer headed home a corner. Celtic tried to rally a response late on with Kyle Ryan having an effort cleared off the line and the game ended shortly afterwards with the only goal enough for St Michaels. Celtic know they will need to start adding to their points tally but if they produce performances similar to their last three outings you would hope they will be able to garner enough points to keep them safe.
