It was an unsuccessful day in the National Cup on Saturday with none of our teams progressing to Round 2. Having said that we had some good performances and great efforts by the teams involved. Clonmel Celtic U15s lost out 4-3 to Clonmel Town in Ferryhouse on Saturday evening. Celtic's form against Town this season hadn't been good so when they went 2-0 down you feared the worse. However they fought back and the score was 2-2 at the break. The visitors regained their 2 goal lead early in the second half and Celtic kept plugging away and got a goal back to keep them in the tie right up until the end. They came close to forcing extra time but Town held on to advance. On the scoresheet for Celtic were Emmanuel Vargese with two and Max Korothov.

Earlier in the day the U13s were in action with the B team well beaten by Parkville Utd from Carlow on a 6-1 scoreline. The A came much closer as their game with Wexford outfit All Blacks ending 1-1 with Franek Ciesnik on the scoresheet for Celtic. Celtic lost out on penalties.

Clonmel Celtic U11s were also in action against Wexford opposition on Saturday. They were on the road where they lost 4-2 to Forth Celtic with Adrian Gobban and Evan Ryan scoring for Celtic.
