After a difficult start to the season Clonmel Celtic Youths withstood a late rally by BT Harps to win 4-3 and advance to Round 2 of the Munster Youths Cup on Saturday. Celtic started well creating some good chances in the early stages. They hit the front after 10 minutes when Jayden Waters netted after Adam Frejek's effort came back off the post. Celtic continued on the front foot and further goals from Jayden Waters and Adam Frejek had them 3-0 to the good at the break. Celtic made it 4-0 on 55 minutes when Mataei Brinza broke through to score. Celtic's defence, well marshalled by Abdul Sheikh, had been solid for most of the game but they lost their way late on with the visitors scoring three times to make it a nervous finish for Celtic. They held on though to record a welcome win.
