Clonmel Celtic had to settle for a point after a 1-1 draw away to Cahir Park on Sunday. Celtic probably felt they did enough to win this game but at least they have something to show from their visit to Cahir. Gus Nolan put Celtic ahead on 9 minutes with a close range effort after a flurry of Celtic corners. Celtic were on top at this stage and almost doubled their lead on 17 minutes only for Kyle Cuddy to be denied by a brilliant save from the Cahir keeper. The home side equalised on the half hour mark with their first real effort on target. It was much the same pattern in the second half with Celtic having the upper hand but they just couldn't apply the final touch to some good moves. Their chances of victory increased when Cahir had a player red carded but the home side held on for the point.
